Voortman invests in new factory hall

Voortman Kantoormeubelen is preparing for the achievement of its ambitious growth plans by an investment in the construction of a second factory hall behind its premises at the Edisonweg, Purmerend. The start of the construction work began on driving the first pile.

The new hall will enable Voortman to further improve the company's ability to meet the future quality requirements and needs of its customers. The new hall will increase the size of the business premises by more than 50%, and will bring the total floor area to in excess of 10,000 m2. This additional space will enable the company to optimize its logistics process and, consequently, further increase the production capacity. According to the planning, the new hall will be commissioned in May 2009.

Voortman, a Dutch manufacturer of steel office furniture, has major expansion plans for the coming years. Firm foundations for this future growth were laid in the past few years: the company is of the opinion that the launch of a new furniture line, optimization of the logistics process and the strong focus on sales and marketing will enable Voortman to continue its growth during the coming years.

Voortman's Director, Frank Lambalk, says: "One of the spearheads of our policy stipulates a rapid response to both the changing market and specific customer questions. With the new hall we will be able to give our dealer network even more support in achieving this objective - and work together with them in creating a better office work environment."
